Frequently asked questions
When is the best time to trim thujas and hedges?
The main trim is late spring and midsummer, once the new growth shows. Light shaping works almost all season, except during heat waves and in late autumn. We'll look at your plants and suggest the right timing.
Can you cut the hedge much lower?
Depends on the species. Thujas respond poorly to cuts into old wood — bare patches rarely grow back, so we lower the height step by step over a few seasons. Deciduous hedges tolerate harder pruning.
Do you take the branches away?
Yes, on request — removal is priced separately by volume. We can also chip the branches and leave them on site as mulch.
How is the price calculated?
Per linear metre of hedge. The total depends on height, width and the condition of the plants — an overgrown hedge takes more time. The price list gives a reference; we'll confirm the exact price after a site visit or from photos.
